Girls On The Move (GOT’M) rides are for the enjoyment of GOT’M members. Guests are welcome to join the rides and enjoy the ride according to the spirit of the Club.
GOT’M has a focus on ensuring new members are welcomed and feel included at any of our rides. We also actively encourage those riders who are learners or getting back on two wheels. Incorporated into the rides are coffee and lunch breaks where a lot chatting goes on about the ride, bikes, clothing and our experiences etc. So you can get a feel of GOT’Ms approach, riders are split into three groups, experienced, intermediate and new riders. Each group has a lead rider (someone who knows the way) and the new rider group also has a tail end Charlene. On long rides we have corner markers making sure that no one gets lost. When splitting the group up into three, we ask each group to move together so that they can identify each other. Plus, each ride leader identifies themselves and make sure they know who is in their group. We remind each group to keep an eye out for each other and if someone goes missing, we slow down and wait for their light to show in our mirrors or go look for them in the unlikely case something may have happened. |
