ACT Ride of Remembrance 5 Sept 2010 |

ACT and Districts Motorcyclists RIDE OF REMEMBRANCE 5th September 2010 It touches all of us when we hear that a fellow rider has fallen and lost their life. To commemorate the lives of fallen riders a remembrance ride has been organised by the MRA ACT and Robbos Harley Davidson. This ride is to not only celebrate the lives of our fallen brothers and sisters but to raise awareness of motorcycles and scooters throughout the ACT and surrounds. A Roll Call will be held and a commemoration spoken by Pastor Wayne Lyons. If you have lost a friend or family member in a motorcycling incident and want them added to the Roll Call please advise John at Robbos by either email: harleysales @ robboshd.com.au or call 02 6280 6939. Where: Ride starts from Old Parliament House forecourt. Departure: 10:30 am. Ride Finishes at Robbo's Fyshwick approx 11:30 am. Route: Old Parliament House - Canberra Avenue - Adelaide Ave to Phillip Roundabout - Back up Adelaide Ave to Canberra Ave - Canberra Ave around City Hill - Canberra Ave through Manuka to Robbo's at Fyshwick. A group of Girls On The Move riders will be meeting at the Australian Museum at 10 am and riding together to Old Parliament House to join the start of the ride. GOT’M will then be hosting a ride to Gundaroo for lunch after the ride, starting from Robbo’s. All riders are welcome to join in. ™˜Set aside Saturday 30th October for aPink Ribbon RideWith a difference! ™˜The Pink Ribbon Ride... A Trivia, Raffles & Bikefest Whistlestop Tour!Ride Route: Leave Parliament House around 10.00am for Bungendore for an entertaining Coffee & Trivia stop; Head to Gundaroo for another Coffee & Trivia stop; then Back to Bikefest being held the Sutton Driver & Rider Training Range.
We hope to finish the ride around lunchtime.Registration for the ride is expected to be around $15 per bike, the proceeds of which will be donated to the National Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Fund. ™˜GOT'M would like to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to Eleanor and her team for organising the event and all our Pink Ribbon volunteers who are selling PRR merchandise. ™˜Fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation is integral to the Pink Ribbon Ride and if you can assist in helping sell NBCF merchandise through your work, friends and family, this would be fantastic. If you are able to take a kit in September/October (Collect at the AGM on 23 September) please respond to the Pink Ribbon Ride Forum Thread so we know how many kits to order.™˜

Thursday 23 rd September 20102010 ANNUAL AGM & DINNERItalo-Australian Club Forrest - ACTMeeting: 7pm start to 9.00 pmJoin us for dinner at 6 pm in Tim’s Chinese restaurant ™˜ This is the most important meeting of 2010 and the one you should put in your diaries to attend. This is where we, as a Committee, present you with the financial report for the year, we summarise our club activity over the past year and we discuss important proposals and amendments to YOUR club! ™˜Most importantly though, this meeting is where the Committee step down and the new Committee step up. So if you have the time and enthusiasm to help out on the 2011 Committee please put your hand up. Positions up for grabs are: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Editor, Merchandise Member, Ride Coordinator and Web Assistance.™˜There is always guidance, tasks are evenly shared around, and the workload is manageable. We take great pride on having a great team atmosphere and you can learn much to put to work in your everyday job!™˜We will have a Guest speaker, nibblies and door prizes will be drawn! |

Memberships for 2010-11 are still being taken so please download a GOT'M_2010_Membership_Form, fill it out, email or send it to us and you can either pay your $25 membership ($15 after 1 July) via cheque or direct deposit. Email info@girlsonthemove.com.au for bank details. Got'M rely on the generous support of our members - not only financially but also with your help in guiding new and returning riders to us so that we can help them on their journey of improving their skills to make them better, safer and more confident riders. We continue to need a blend of experienced and new members so that we can have that balance. We are always keen to hear what YOU want from YOUR club so please email us with suggestions.
